Been a while since my last post - things have been really busy...!!

Anyway here is one of my latest strats- a 1981 Tokai Springy Sound ST-50.

Minty condition must have spent a long time in the case. I'll have a look under the pickguard soon and post pics in relation to what type of pickups are hidden inder there.

    Gorgeous !

Funny how the pickups cover didn't age at all...

I think it's UV light that ages the covers? Overall condition suggests it sat in a case unplayed . I've seen this a few time with miny condition Grecos and Fernandes revivals.

Guitars in great condition are a double edge sword for me.... I want to play them but dont want to risk dinging them up :b

Congratulations! Great looking guitar. I think I saw that for sale recently in UK possibly and thought it sounded a great deal with the case thrown in too? I could be wrong though...

I see what you're saying, also and to me, these '+30 mint examples' bring up "why didn't they get the play time" reverie.

@FenderBNDR, as my eyes seem to always let me down on this, and/or the Springy bursts tend to 'show' (over the years) red fading?
    Is it a 2T- or a 3Tone burst?

Gorgeous. Would love to have one of around that vintage. Like those guys in their fifties that go buy the car they could not afford at 17.

Lovely looking Springy you've got there mate,
I recently got my first Tokai, a 1983 Fiesta red with maple neck, It's what I think they call the Transition model with the block lettering which to be honest put me off buying it at first but I like the individuality of it being different and the fact they were only out for one year, mine has settled down now after getting it set up and it plays great,
They really are a great guitar.
    Cheers
    Dave.
