I am waiting patiently (lol) for Fedex to arrive with my new Strat. I joined this forum years ago when I had a Strat. That guitar was sadly lost to a pawn shop and my opiate addiction. It was an American Standard, 3-color sunburst, maple neck. Thankfully, it has been many years since I had those issues but the guitar, of course, is still gone. I never wanted to visit this site without a Strat. I bought a Squire Bullet but that doesn't count. So TODAY my new American Performer Strat will arrive, in LP blue, and I am thrilled. I am happy to feel entitled to visit here again.

Congrats on being clean and a brand new guitar...LPB Strat no less.
I understand the pull of opiate addiction. I was getting very close to that a few years ago when I had my 6th knee surgery. It was the first knee replacement in that leg, which failed BTW. The doctor just kept prescribing more Oxy and I kept taking them until I realized that I couldn't go to bed without them and couldn't sleep with them. I made the decision to dump an entire bottle down the toilet and learn to deal with the pain like I did for the previous 5 surgeries. Now I have collected 8 knee surgeries with a second artificial knee. All on the same leg and for the second replacement, I only took 5 pills and none for this last surgery that was less than a week ago...all by the grace of God.
Great job, keep it up and play the mess out of that new axe. Oh, and don't forget pics...we like puctures.

The best part of your post is that you're sober! The guitar is just icing on the cake. Congrats!

I'd say a Squire Bullet is as much a Strat as anything else on here, but glad you're thrilled with the new guitar. Congratulations!

Congratulations, and a hearty welcome back!
I’ve known the misery of addiction. I never forget that every thing I have will fit inside a shot glass, baggie, or pipe.
    Enjoy the reward!

I just got it after waiting two hours at the FedEx warehouse for them to find it. Long story, happy ending, I got it. It looks great but it sounds AMAZING. I will try to post pics and info tomorrow. Thanks to all for the very kind words.
