Caveat: I'm really not into buying Chinese-made guitars, but after months of reading/watching an overwhelming number of fantastic reviews of this Squier (and being a J Mascis fan), I pulled the trigger the other night, albeit after several IPAs had been consumed and good judgement had been all but vanquished. It just arrived at my office. First impression is that it is gorgeous, absolutely no visible flaws or issues whatsoever (wish I could've said the same about the far more pricey USA-made Gibson 'Modern' Les Paul I ordered and promptly returned last month!) and sounds great unplugged. HEAVY bastard, too. Excited to plug it in tonight!

JUST played one at Guitar Center 15 minutes ago. The Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster is my favorite guitar I don’t own.
    HNGD!

Was real interested in these, but the only 2 I came across were too heavy. I'm guessing 9 lbs.

I stumbled across mine on the used wall at guitar center. It had a ding on the bottom, where you don’t even notice it. The best $230 I’ve ever spent on gear! It is the guitar I grab the most often, lately. Amazing neck, GREAT fretwork, and I always find a tone I like from it!
    Enjoy that baby!

I’ve got a chinese Fender modern Jaguar that is very well made (200 € new ...). Pots and switch are crap though. The Jay M looks great and is surely better, congrats!
That makes me want to go listen to Jay’s music now...

Stunning, I really want a Jazzmaster and this one is at the top of my list. Enjoy :)

I've got a vintage modified Jag and a Squier Strat Deluxe, both of which are of great build quality ;)

    Congrats! Nice guitar!
Nothing wrong with a Chinese guitar these days. I love my Blueridge Historic 000, as well as my GoldTone resonator and CV50's Tele. Materials and craftsmanship has been great on all of them.
    Wear it out!
