I ordered and finally received a guitar I have wanted for most of my life - kind of......the first time I laid eyes on a Charvel Surfcaster, I thought it was the coolest looking guitar on the planet. Reminded me of a late 50s/early 60s Corvette. Then, I found a small company out of Madison, Wisconsin called GRB Guitars that handbuilds replicas of the old Charvel classic[except even BETTER]and finally was able to order one up. it's called the GRB "Kokocaster"!! It took about 2 days to arrive, and when it did, it exceeded my expectations and hopes - this guitar is incredible. It's built like a TANK, sounds like a Gretsch/Telecaster, and has a slim and fast satin-finished neck. I just can't believe this thing.....specs are as follows:

    *Mahogany chambered bound body
*Bound slash sound hole and headstock
    *Bound hard rock maple neck
*Highly figured "Tangerine" quilted maple top
    *Rosewood fingerboard, pearl shark-fin inlay
    *Hand polished frets
    *Graphite nut
*25 1/2 scale bolt on neck, 23 1/2 medium vintage frets
    *One volume, one tone control
    *3-way pickup selector switch
    *2 single coil lipstick pickups
    *Vintage Tremolo

I could go on and on....the build quality of this thing is just fantastic.....I could not be more pleased...!!!

Just got home from a long day, and am staring at her again.....wow. This is just truly an unbelievably nice guitar. It's a tad on the hefty side as far as weight.....it's a mahogany body ya know? I'd hate to see what it would feel like if it wasn't chambered! It's not a back-breaker or anything though.....I'd say by feel probably around 9 lbs, maybe a hair less. I don't know who makes this bridge, but it is the most solid piece I have ever seen. The neck is great, and having full access to the 2-octave range[on the treble side]is awesome. I will try to shoot some video and give ya'll a review in the near future......this thing really has some incredible shimmer, snap, and bite.
