I have a liking for odd and different guitars. I came upon an add locally for this Eastwood Newport replica and could not help myself. This type of guitar original or replica virtually don't exist here so I had to grab it. It shows minor wear and tear but nothing drastic, the neck is straight as a gunbarrel, and quite nice to play. I am having a bit of trouble finding much information on this brand, and would appreciate if any one has anything.

This seemed to be the most info I could turn up with Google-fu:

Jayro Newport JNG800B Surf Green – Topshelf Instruments

Although they do not cite their source for the information, according to the ad it appears to be from:

"Japanese manufacturers Diviser, who also make Bacchus and Momose guitars which enjoy a cult following owing to their exceptional build quality"

Good looking guitar and something I would probably scoop up at the right price.

That's about all that I found, its pretty hard to track down much at all. There is no serial number to be found anywhere.

I was hoping that Bill Alston might have some idea of it's history in his archives.
