Got this new 2021 Epiphone SG Special in Sparkling Burgundy. It has a small paint chip. SomI am waiting to hear back from the dealer and see what kind of discount they will do on in.

If it isn’t enough, I will send it back on their dime and get another one. Maybe I can get them to throw in a case.

Everything works perfectly on it. The P90’s sound great. No static n the controls. And I like the neck. It feels wide compared to others I’ve tried, and compared to my New Epi 335.

Seems super wide. I had one for a minute in perfect condition then traded it for the Orange (Black) open back 2x12 cab. Agreed it is a beautiful color and sounds great!

Nice! P90's. Slim neck and '61 style neck heel. What's not to love?

I don't know if they are actually any wider that the usual Epi/Gibbi, but the flat radius makes it feel that way. They're all about the same at the nut... but perhaps some get wider higher up. Never actually measured to compare.

If you get a case, make sure it's an Epi or Gibson SG case... or one from a manufacturer who knows how to make a ramped case. You want the body and neck supported on those. A flat bottom case doesn't do it.

I didn’t have to polish the frets at all, but I used some Gorgamyte on the frets and board. The board was really dry so I did a couple of coats of F-1 oil on it.

The spec sheet says that the FB is Laurel. But I’ve got to say the dark color and the grain look like rosewood.

Same thing happened with one of my Ibanez. Spec sheet said Jatoba, but what came on the guitar was Indian rosewood. The dealer has since updated the spec sheet and it now says rosewood. Ibanez says that they changed it for this year.
