As promised, my NGD thread. The guitar that came home with me was a PRS SE 245. I tried dozens of guitars, this one was the most comfortable. And I really like how it looks as well as how it sounds. IDK if it comes through in the photos, but the finish on these is really shiny and smooth.

This guitar beat out everything I tried. USA and MIM Strats, Teles. Epi and Gibby LPs, 335s, Casino. Gretsch, Ibanez, ...I tried a LOT of guitars. I am confident that this was the best guitar (for me) out of the whole store's stock. Which is weird, because I never really even considered PRS before.

I love those. I ended up with a ZM version because I love satin necks, but the 245 is beautiful, the best looking PRS out there I think.

When you find one that fits and works for you, you know it.

On a recent weekday I spent a few early hours at GC one day playing a whole slew of different guitars that I wanted to try. They all look nice on the wall. Most don't feel right for one reason or another when you start playing. Even two with identical specs won't have the same feel and it seems to extend beyond setup (but who knows until you put the time in). Bottom line though, you know when one it right. Congrats.

In a guitar forum? Buy the shoes. Change the laces. Double the tongue. Add pads inside. Put on a thicker heel. File the soles down thin. Strip the finish and recolor. Etc.

Congratulations! Your new guitar looks beautiful.

PRS Guitars run the whole gamut. There are some models that I love and others that I don't. When you take the time to play and compare guitars, some of the PRS guitars really stand out. And not just the fancy expensive ones.

I now only play Strat's and PRS guitars. I own SE's, S2's and core models. Enjoy your new guitar.

    My SE Zach Myers.

I have an Indonesian made PRS. It was setup out of the box better than any American made guitar I’ve bought, ever. It’s built just as clean and nice as my brothers core model. The only obvious downgrade to the American models here are the pickups. Once I swapped out those bootleg 85/15s, the guitar is as good as any I own.
