Dammit, I was doing so good. Been like 18 months since I bought a guitar (built one, but didn’t buy one). I’ve sold 3, though, which is some consolidation/consolation.

I could not get this oddball Strat out of my mind. Never did I think I’d own a HH S-type. It’s a 2004 MIK Showmaster Strat. Simple 3-way switch. Bloody beautiful finish, set neck and low action over the flattest, most athletic fretboard I’ve ever played. I blame all the Smashing Pumpkins and Metallica I’ve been playing lately.

Absolutely Beautiful!!

Strat with a Set Neck!!! I never knew such existed!!

Congratulations!!
HNGD!!!
I didn't know they existed either. Apparently they haven't been made since like 2005 or something (which was before I ever owned an electric guitar at all). The only other set neck Fender I'm aware of off the top of my head is the Jim Adkins Telecaster.

This Showcase Strat is a fantastic lead guitar. My penchant for rhythm playing (and traditional looking guitars) always had me shying from the more flamboyant shreddy type guitars. But this one with the simple, dark wood finish and set neck I had to try, and I'm so glad I did. It makes me a faster and cleaner player, I can actually sweep and legato way faster and with more ease. It's the radius and something about the bridge on this thing (muting is easier, too), it was built for this stuff. Not to mention the sustain on the SD humbuckers, whatever model they are.
