    No, not really.

though anyone dying at 46 gives me pause.

Like their sound, though I have not followed the band closely. Very sad to lose a talented musician, especially one so young.

Sad day. I listened to Slipknot quite a lot in the early 2000s. And I don't even like metal all that much!
It was Jordison's drumming that made them stand out more than anything else. The set sounded less dead than is standard in metal. And the playing was a chaotic mix of unexpected flams, triplets/septuplets and all kinds of interesting stuff that breaks up the normally robotic metal rhythms. At least the early albums felt a bit like a Brazilian carnival inside a bowling pin factory that's exploding.

I know they have a very dedicated tribe of fans and have been rocking for many years now.
I am sad for their loss.

Never been a "huge" fan...but I saw them at Ozfest 2001 in Somerset, Wisconsin and they kicked a**.
Three percussionists (10 members all together)---it was overwhelming in a very good way. Loved them live, but never bought an album.
They grew up in Des Moines, my home states Capital...so that's cool.
    Rest In Peace

First three albums were pure brilliance. And live they were insanely good - caught them live a couple of times.

they seemed to lose something though on the more recent stuff.

RIP Jordison, only 46 too - poor guy

This is my favourite Slipknot tune, quite fresh at the time.
