I've had a couple auctions up on eBay recently where someone won but didn't pay. With one, after 8 days, eBay offered to cancel the auction and re-list it. There's another one where a bidder won this past Friday but still hasn't paid (after 3 days). What's up with these non-paying auction winners?

It's a holiday weekend... give them time to get back home and get settled in.
I always pay immediately, but I also always use BIN.
If it's an auction, it might be a couple of days before I can log in and pay.

I’ve only had a couple of buyers just flat out not pay which is more of an annoyance than anything else (I’d rather deal with them than the ones that nitpick everything after they receive it and want to return it). But for the ones that do pay but take their own sweet ass time doing it, I just remember that when it comes time to ship...

I would see if you could get a box from the local music store. They get so many, if they are like my friends music store, that they wind up throwing some away. You will probably want to double box. I actually took one to the local FedEx store and they packed it and double boxed it for an extra $45 over the price of the shipping, but that was a while ago. They were a lot cheaper than the UPS store.

It's been a loooong time since I sold something there, but it seemed there was a payment reminder thingy that you could send on your sales page.

Or those that nitpick everything, but don't want to return it, instead extorting you for a partial refund under threat of neg FB and a CC charge-back.

It's their hobby. Which is why I abandoned actions some years ago, I only sell buy-it-now with immediate payment.

Absolutely totally pet hate! You bought it, pay for it now.

I always do, and can't stand folk who (obviously, viewably) bid in the closing seconds of an auction, who then don't pay for days...

Hey! I know you're there!! You just placed that winning bid two minutes ago. Pay already!!!!

If you cant get a box from a music store try a local white goods supplier, a fridge/stove box cut down will do the job a treat and the store will thank you for taking it.

    Pre- mature buyers remorse ?..
I almost clicked on one last night and will probably think about it for days. Then work over to pay for it .
I would blame E-bay as well for not charging a re-stock fee to Clickey- Clickerson's who will not assume responsibility.

Good luck with all of your endeavors.

Funny that you mention the nitpickers....I just had one of those from a sale of a 16 year old guitar...

Dude kept after me telling me the guitar wasn't as nice as advertised....I'm not kidding when I say he actually wrote....."there are a few scratches in the finish, but you can only see them in certain light"....I'm like, what....the guitar is 16yo and a nitro finish....

I know he was trying to get me to refund him some cash (he asked for a partial refund after about 3 messages)....so I told him if he didn't think the guitar was worth the money he paid, ship it back (at his cost) and I would gladly refund his purchase price minus the original shipping costs and fees.....

Didn't hear another word from him....:):)

Pack it so it doesn’t make a noise when you shake the box. Pack it like it will have to survive being thrown!
