Well there’s nothing worse than relic’ing your best and most expensive guitar at the drop of a hat . I never have taken my 83 Walnut Elite out of the house until last night... I’m wailing on it unplugged enjoying the weather. Rotten dog of mine starts going ape-s*** crazy at the fence because someone is walking behind there. I put my Strat on the soft and cushy lounge chair next to me. I’m out in the yard walking back from scolding him and suddenly it’s like an invisible hand pushes my dearly beloved pristine condition Strat off and onto the .....concrete.... I got to watch the horror unfold.... like in slow mo... Not pristine no more. I had to go take an hour walk to cool down. My own fault of course. I said a lot of really choice words. I’m the last guy to ever relic my instruments... so it sucks.
Ok now that that is over. Let's see the whole thing. I'm sure it's gorgeous. Even Cindy Crawford has a mole.
Keep it up me buddy...it took me 50 times what you did to get the results I got...plus a fire accident.
Sorry to hear that. Looks like it's almost on the back though? You're not alone, I had my Les Paul Goldtop Classic less than 6 months, when the strap slipped and it face planted on the hardwood floor. Two big chips of paint gone and a bent tuner. Thankfully no neck break though. Keep playing and it will hardly bother you in time....and you'll forever think (hopefully fondly) of that rotten dog when you see the damage!
That's one of those things you will keep seeing over and over again and give you shivers.. Sorry to hear about that!
That hurts. Now name it «The Dog» and play it till death! Back when an R6 Goldtop were my main guitar, I’d have a heartattack everytime I took it out of the case. My beat up 80’s strat actually made me play better. Another ding? Who cares?
Funny. Yeah I can just feel the instant mojo it got! Surprisingly it was still in tune after that... here’s the before pic, the white lines at the bottom are light reflections
Yeah I’m lucky actually that all the damage is on the bottom back so from the front it still looks pristine. And sorry to hear about your LP. Theo, was shaking because he could sense I went atomic. No matter what, all he gets is hugs and kisses so he didn’t get any bad after the guitar hit the ground. That’s on me. But yes you’re right, I will always think of him when I see my owie....
That is a gorgeous guitar. I feel your pain, but the damage isn't visible from the top. It's still a looker and now you have a story to tell along with it.
Nah, it’s just going to teach me lesson and be a little more careful about setting it down. I think I’d rather leave it real world relic’ed than try and screw it up even more.
Boy, that hurts. I remember when those come out, the year I graduated from high school. At least it's in an inconspicuous spot. Sort of.
Think of it this way, if someone steals it you will always know it's yours even if they remove the serial number.
