Look at it as being liberating, because now if it gets a scratch down the road it won't hurt as much.
Nice guitar, maybe smooth the edges at the break so more doesn't come off.
Plus it builds character, you have already resolved to be more careful.

Oh believe me, Covid has been a major disaster for us, or anyone of course in the entertainment business. Bleeding money to make ends meet. Have to sell my rental house/shop and kick out my buddy and buyer because I have no choice. And it gets worse from there. :(

Yes ebony fingerboard. I think all Walnut Elites had them, non walnut got rosewood.

Here’s my rotten schnauzer behind bars looking pretty guilty. 2F57866C-D5FB-4EF1-BD84-FA788517441C.jpeg

My rare '79 Music Man Sabre bass once fell...

And then... did you see that black stain and those black dots (both indelible)?.. then the bass didn't fall, cause was safe on a sofa BUT a bottle of black shoe polish fell close to the bass!

Well, what can I say in my defense? Mmhh... Nothing, I'm afraid. I must be sincere: when I was teenager and young every scar on my bass was exciting for me. That's the truth...
I didn't do it on purpose, but lived live music with a real rock'n'roll attitude. The funny thing is that this still is my first bass (the second is a perfect new Geddy Lee Jazz Bass) and works wonderful.

your strat will outlive you, your trusty dog will not...the damage may be frustrating to look at it now, but over time, you may see it as a reminder from a old friend and even crack a smile about it every once in a while :) love that it stayed in tune, best part of the story...rock on!

We call those "Knusper Ecken" here in Germany, which means crunchy wedge.

Some people pay extra for a faked version of that, you've got the real mojo for free. Keep on playing the thing, that's its purpose - and enjoy it! ;)

Dang, I feel your pain. I had a brand new Fender The Strat in 1981 and it was on a guitar stand in the basement (concrete floor). My foot got tangled in the cord and I pulled it off the stand, crashing to the floor and taking a chunk of the lacquer almost exactly the spot and about the same size. The finish was clear red over a gold undercoat, and the gold really stuck out from the red after the hit. So I feel your pain on that one. I think all of us have been there at some point.

While it does look bad a good guitar luthier can take care of that really easily.

Calm the f*** down. It’s got character now. For all you could improve the tone. Like the shedding of skin.
