    Internet has been spotty but as long as I can charge my phone with gasoline I can get news at least

    Time for some panels, batteries, mppt charge controller and a pure sine wave inverter. And some ohms law stuff. Watts...volts...amps.

    And a refrigerator designed to run at 24 vdc. I had one in New Mexico. Regular refrigerators have a hard startup that will pull a lot of amps. Microwaves are out of the question. Run those off a generator. But lights, laptop computers, music devices will all run fine, especially during the peak sun hours. I even converted a swamp cooler to run on 24vdc.

    Luckily for me, I’m in Richmond Annex, in between I-80 and San Francisco Bay, just about one block in. We were just outside the fringes of power outages.
