It's a Bill Lawrence Strat copy (on Reverb)... and tho it probably plays and sounds nice, and maybe it does something for others, but the all-red color scheme is a bit much (imo):

Maybe it would work if I played in a "Dracula" band... or something! :)

Some of the Fernandes Ken models also featured this look and yes they are a bit of an acquired taste.

I've played a few Bill Lawrence teles and the were very nice indeed and had some exceptionally good sounding pickups.

A good friend of mine has one, and if I can get my hands on it I'll post a video.

I might consider one like that if it was all white. That would be my fancy strat. :D

By the way that is a Hatake signature model. I almost bought one ! Screenshot_2017-11-06-14-56-21.jpg

Hatake? Sounds Japanese and - I don't mean to sound derogatory here! - maybe that's why it's so unusually colorful. Both the Japanese and the Japanologists I know have a predilection for almost blindingly colorful stuff!

In the study of a friend of mine - she's just back from half a year in Japan - amongst a sea of red, pink and teal, that guitar wouldn't look out of place at all.

I don't know if Japan itself is as colorful, but if the 9 people with some kind of ties to Japan I know are anything to go by, it wouldn't surprise me if all the cliché main street neon signs from the 80s movies were the real thing...

Edit: Also, that finish is rad!
With a black PG and silver pickups... look at this Tele - not bad, right?

I do think it would be a very nice player... and perhaps if I had it and played it with my eyes closed I could like it even more! ;)

The headstock looks like a giant bottle opener. Kinda fugly IMO.

Stuff like that may actually have a place in a 'stage show' environment, where it may fit in with that overall feel of the show. Maybe like a Broadway musical, or some funky dance club. Or a punk band (but beat up with stickers.) But not in my house.

imagine if the person was color blind, and didnt even know they played guitar.

thats how color blindness works right?

I’d take it. Red is my favorite color. Sure it’s a bit much but so am I.

If by “kinda” you mean “OMGWTFBBQ THAT’S FUGLY,” then I’m with you. Painted fretboards are never attractive.

Read up on Bill Lawrence Guitars. The real "Bill" ( Willi Lorenz Stich") didn't make them . A former partner used the name, added USA, and marketed guitars and pickups under that moniker. The Swampkaster and probably this one were made by the ex partner.
