Actually, one of the things a Klone does best is clean boost. Better than any TS I ever tried. If you prefer the OD sound of the Klone ( I absolutely do) I would suggest selling the TS and getting a second Klone. My Rocket Archer is the silver version and it is a phenomenal pedal. Perhaps if you had a silver one as well it would be much easier to see at a glace which one you're using for clean boost and which for OD. Enjoy the toy!
IMO you're likely to love it. Klones make fantastic boost pedals. Ideal character for goosing leads, though plenty of players run theirs always-on.
Oh yeah - try putting that thing in front of a cooking amp, then press the button..... like Emeril saying *BAM!*
Awesome but don't forget..... No such thing as a perfect pedal or OD..... Always stack for best results! Cheers and happy new pedal day!
Had the Archer ikon for a bit. Didn't play nice with my HOF reverb, or vice versa. Nice pedal as a stand alone but doesn't seem to get along with digi 'verb. That's my experience anyways. Lot's of folks love them.
If you like that pedal, then HNP day! I wasn't impressed when they first came out. I knew that Kenney Wayne Sheppard bought one when they were still "new". Didn't think much of them then. However, that was my ears, not yours. Plus, an original can go for 6K... so I'm pretty sure my opinion isn't worth jack squat... So, the umpteen gazzilion clones tells me that I'm in the minority, as far as my opinion goes....
Don't know, but the guy at Kenelley Keys said others had similar complaints with certain other digital pedals. Just got real nasty computerized sounding artifacts. If I could have controlled or predicted the outcome it could have been cool for something. Kind of a bummer because I really wanted to love it, but there are tons of overdrives, I have lots, that don't react like that. The Archer ikon is nice though, and the build quality was top notch. Otherwise it's a mystery to me....
