I just picked up this telecaster bigsby from a relative, they have had it for over 30 years so I assume it’s real, but I can’t find a serial number, where it was made, or another one exactly like it. First thing that threw me off was no truss rod but I seen other bigsby that didn’t have them either, older ones from the 60-70s it seems. Any info would be awesome!!

Looked at the headstock more, I have Fender Tele necks from numerous decades and several countries, that one is not right.
Was the relative by any chance, uh, on drugs?

Sorry!
You did not ask for lies!
Yeah it looks off to me as well, but iv never owned an older one so I wasn’t sure. Might bring it to a shop and have them Take it apart P.S my uncles 89 now so yeah he probably was on drugs when he owned it hahaha

I'm new here but have been on the Telecaster forum 12 years.
Utterly amazing how often folks join to show Grandpas all original 52 Tele and the thing is just a mashup of fake parts.
Some even show pics of the guitar 30-40 years ago as proof, yet somehow the guitar they got is not the guitar in the old pics.
Maybe some other kid or a plumber swapped a cheap guitar into the case and took Grandpas $40,000 vintage Fender?
Stuff happens...

Hope it plays good and you didnt spend a lot on it?
If a nicer old guitar was stolen from the old feller, may be worth telling the police.
Old timers get cheated and scammed a lot, its a whole industry now.

Headstock shape and the maple looks slightly 1990 Korean, but those were 21 frets. I believe the avri necks were 21 fret also.

Could be one of those old stewmac replacement necks made by Godin?
