I have 3 TC Electronic pedals, Quintessence, Flashback 2 and Hall of Fame 2.
With their Tone Print Editor app I can get some pretty wild tones out of all three.

In the 70s there was a Morley pedal with a magnetic disc spinning in a pool of oil. I don't know if the effect was any good, but it's a monster pedal and must have some serious cachet in the right place.

I had the Mr. Black Eterna Gold and no matter how much I tried to love it both as a shimmer and a reverb I just couldn't get on with it. It eventually was beat out by a $40 Biyang Tri-Reverb. I had already had one before the Eterna Gold and it was so good that I just had to go back to what really worked for me.

Funny you posted this because I've been on a similar search the last month or so. I have a great amp and core tone but wanted some effects that "affected" my sound in a less traditional way. I recently picked up the EHX SuperEgo+. It' takes a bit to get around but it's an interesting pedal and can get some really nice synth like swells etc. Also grabbed an SY-1 which in turn was upgraded to the SY-300. All I can say about either of those is if the 70's or 80's is your thing they can be very musical. Also grabbed the Meris Polymoon. Pretty extraordinary delay. Have my eye on the Enzo next.

Also check out the EHX Mel9. I've seen some videos that are complete crap but others sound like you are sitting in the room with a real Mellotron.

Ha! I forgot about that one, I had one of those Way back there. Oil based echo. Didn’t work very good. I have no idea what I ever did with it.

The one I had was all organ. Did a Hammond or a Vox Continental. Cool pedal.

I've been intrigued by the Mad Professor Golden Cello. I think I'm going to break down and buy one. I'm not after cloning Eric Johnson's tone, but the pedal has a cool sound.

I’m a big fan of reverb. I’ll use the amps natural spring tank for a subtle bleed through/always on. And then I have a variety of verb boxes that come off and on my board. Everything from wet big spring to haunting depths. The eterna is great for those depths of verb with just a pinch of shimmer.

Don't get me wrong, It's a great pedal for what it does. I just got my hopes up for something that wasn't for me. That's all I was saying. Mr' Black does a lot of those really cool ethereal sounding pedals but right now I have found that I can't do them any, and they don't do me any, justice with the way I play. It's like a Les Paul for me. They are great guitars and sound great but only when someone else is playing it.:D

I hadn’t heard of that one, but I have their Rainbow Machine. “Weird AND different” fits it as well. Think pitch-shifting pixie dust trails and the sounds of being sucked into a black hole.:D

Have you tried a Whammy yet? They’re lots of fun. Apart from the mir signature pitch bend, they also do some glitchy (in a good way) type of harmonies.
They are particularly awesome with germanium fuzzes. Like the Zvex Fuzz Factory.
