Your comment about ‘way too far’ reminds me of the first road trip I did in the US. Three days in I asked for directions in a small local shopping mall. They were easy, out and right in to the highway, next left to the T junction, right, over the railway crossing and it’s on tge left, can’t miss it. 20 mins and 15 miles later we were considering turning back, convinced we’d missed the ‘next left’. Decided to carry on and sure enough, the ‘next left’ was 20 miles from the mall. Same for the rest of the directions, we arrived at our destination in just over an hour. Really learned that the US is a BIG place. In the UK and Ireland, ‘next Kent’ is seldom more than 1/2 a mile along the road. You read on here that guys think nothing of driving 80 miles to their local GC! If you were Stateside you’d be in his local claiming your Guinness by lunchtime!
