Had this one for 20 years and decided it was time for an update and a fresh fret dressing. 1995 American Standard body and 1998 American Standard neck. I was tired of the active pickups and needing to switch batteries. Ended up changing everything but the body/neck and went back to 3 standard single coil Strat pickups (Stratosphere Texas Hots as recommended by several members here) Nothing abnormal to see here :whistling: Or if you want abnormal and TL/DR tech details it's all here:

It was mostly finished weeks ago but the gold 5-way switch knob just came in the mail today. That means today is HNGD right? The last pic is the before pic.

Looks very nice. I used to be anti-gold hardware but I’m starting to come around.

Love the pickguard! Maybe I should replace all the chrome on mine (in the avatar). Should pole pieces be gold, too?

Thanks! I think it depends on the finish and pickguard. For me sunburst + tort is definitely a go.

Yep, and don't forget gold frets and strings :D

Nice! Which EMGs did you have in it? What do you plan to do with them?

ahh. Good quality from what I hear. Offends my cork sniffing vintage sensibilities though ;-)

Thanks! I got the Babicz bridge because you recommended it. There is an EMG-81 Humbucker and I am not sure about the others. I will either sell the loaded pickguard or keep it and probably never do anything with it.

They will either be S or SA models. Let me know what you would want for it. If I can pull it off I would love to get it. I have a project going that I could use them in.

Strats just don't sound as good with "high-tech" active PUs. Taking her back to a more traditional configuration is a big improvement, IMAO

You did a good dress, this is why we love Strats, a bit of tweaking and you have a custom Strat, well done.
