So I stumbled across a guitar on Craigslist I was thinking of swapping my American standard strat for, what do you guys think would it be a wise trade or?

My guitar is a 13 model American standard strat in mint condition.

Their guitar is a deluxe players strat and a hotrod 112 and 112 cab.

The deluxe really interests me with the flatter radius as I mainly play lead, but is it worth sacrificing the sweetness that is the American standard. Is the quality just as good?

If your AS is sweet and you know it well, be careful of swapping for something you don't know unless you can spend enough time checking it out properly, there can be unpleasant surprises in a used guitar, jmo

I'd wonder why the other guy would want to swap, if his gear was any good...

Yes my Parker has noisrless Seymour Duncan's. Thanks for the opinions guys just wasn't sure if it would be a good trade if he'll do it. I probably will because I want the tube amp, I have another head that needs a cab, and I was the larger radius neck. Sent the guy a message, hoping to hear something back.

He is willing to give you a Deluxe Players Strat (~$500 used) a HotRod Delux (~$350-$400 used) a 112 cabinet (~$150) for your American Standard (~$800 used)?

I think the American Standard is a bit better than any Mexican Strat. But if you can get that much stuff for it that deal is a couple of hundred in your favor.

I wouldn't do it. The 2013 american standard is a keeper.

I wouldn't do it. I've owned all the items being considered.

Quality over Quantity, keep your guitar, usually peopletrade few pieces for 1 high end piece not the opposite unless they are desperate for a dollar to eat.

Think I am going to trade him my Springfield XDS 3.3 inch subcompact pistol chambered in .45 acp for just the guitar instead

Wow! You just had a kidney transplant, and the first thing you do is arrange a trade for a guitar while still in the hospital.

    Dude, you are hard core!

Here's hoping for a good and fast recovery. :thumb:

WTF!? Take it slow and give your body time to heal. The world is full of Fender guitars and amps. That stuff can wait. You won't be finding a new body on-line, so you need to take care of the one you've got. Get well soon. :thumb:

They worked on the end stage renal disease, but unfortunately there is still no cure for gear acquisition syndrome
