I've stumbled upon the Cali76, I hadn't noticed them before and now it seems I can't go on without one.
Having an 1176 on my board does seem appealing. I use my compressor a lot, currently a Marshall ED-1. I always thought I could do better.
I'll have to see how poor I am after Christmas. Luckily I have quite a few gigs. They're not cheap. Especially the big one, which of course 'sounds better' cos it's bigger right?

Never had a chance to try one out, but yes, they're not cheap at all. Looking into another compressor myself (to replace my Boss CS-3), but I think I'll stick with the new Keeley Plus as its far more affordable.

The new compact ones are cheaper (£179 standard and £269 deluxe) quite a bit cheaper than the big ones which are discontinued anyway. I'll get the standard at least. If I'm feeling flush I'd like a deluxe purely for the gain reduction light! The original would take up a lot of real estate too.

    Here's a good comparison vid
