    Yes, but NEVER ENOUGH.

Unless you go to Crown Candy Kitchen in St. Louis, you just get a couple of measly slices of bacon on bread made too soggy by a mealy tomato.

(But the BLT at Crown Candy has like, no kidding, a pound of bacon on it.)

    Tunafish sandwich. Definitely over-rated.

BLT, yes, over rated. I checked with authorities.

Also overrated: Grilled cheese sandwiches made without cheese or bread.

Sandwiches, all sandwiches. Except! White bread fried in butter, served with fried eggs and bacon!

one sandwich that will NEVER be on this list

Peanut Butter and Jelly... it cannot be overrated. it transcends all ratings systems... it is truly the lifesaver of the poverty jet-set. and you can put one wrapped in foil in your coat pocket without too much collateral damage...

edt: do you know why no one ever starves in the desert? because of all the sand which is there.

Yes these can be boring and bland if not done well, but a good example of either can be pretty amazing.

    I love a good sandwich.

Cucumber sandwiches--that grand symbol of English high society tea party posh--highly overrated.

I'll take a ham & cheese, or better yet a BLT, over those any day.

The best sandwich I can think of is the muffuletta. Lots of people don't even know what it is. So I'd say that's a contender for the most underrated sandwich.

I like mine with about 1/2 pound of bacon per sandwich, a good bread (Pullman loaf is classic), mayo (pick your favorite), fresh cracked black pepper, romaine lettuce, and Better Boy tomato from the garden.

I've had BLT that was an exercise in mediocrity, but that's not how I make 'em.

Sometimes I'll get crazy and add avocado slices to my BLT, which I suppose makes it a BLAT.

Oooo avocado on a BLT would be good.

The 20€ croque monsieur from Thierry Marx's restaurant in CDG Terminal 1 was not only overrated, it was overpriced.
