It came with a MIJ Strat I bought a couple of years ago, I tossed in a drawer and pulled it out to try it on this guitar, I eventually straightened it. I don't know why it was bent like it was.

Agree. I really like the parchment, but not so much the aged plastic parts. I would prefer it all be parchment. I had a '66 Strat (avatar), all white parts when new and I don't recall the PG turning a different color than the plastic parts. Maybe I didn't wait to age it long enough.

They do come with a very thin layer of protective plastic.

The pickguard should feel like hard plastic and reflect light. Should not look blotchy at all unless the film is still on.

Try scratching gently with your fingernail on the point on the lower horn, on the pickguard and see if it doesn't pull off a very thin layer.

Parchment is like the color of regular white twenty years later. I like it. A bit mellower. I bought one recently to replace a damaged white pickguard from a 1999 Am Std. The new parchment pg was *slightly* less yellow than the original, but pretty darn close.

I will say when Fender goes all parchment on the plastics it looks pretty much white

    Same guitar with less light,

For comparison, with and without flash:

White, parchment, tort, mint, parchment, parchment

Parchment on blonde, real blonde with the grain showing through, looks excellent in my opinion...

But on my current Daphne Blue Strat iteration I went with that early 60s mint.

For me it depends on the guitar paint color.[IMG]

Nothing wrong with Parchment - especially parchment pearloid pickguards.

I like parchment on some guitars but not all. Teles for me almost always demand black pickguards. Its weird when I see a guitar I like I can tell immediately what color pickgiard I would like best on it.

It's a scratchplate. Just forget about it and play the guitar.

Thanks! Indeed... I've made some recordings with it on, and when I put a plastic guard back on, I'll compare. I really am hoping it's in my head!
