Take the '71 Monte Carlo, pick up couple guys that hung with the band. Cheesesteaks at a local place. Couple quarts of whatever beer was on sale. Stop at the mall, hang in front of Friendly's until we score a dime. Head out behind the apartment complex where everyone else was, enjoy the rest of the evening.

    1979...
I was either studying or ... studying. Though there was a couple of brief soirées involving a big ass planet and a pair of intrepid explorers. Kinda made 79 memorable.

Oh, and I shared an elevator with a fellow who told a pretty good joke about a guy, a fence, a bar, and a sheep...or was it a goat?

    eta...
    I was 25.

Not really partying but just a typical day during summer vacation. There were four of us that hung out all the time, good friends. After ingesting a mind altering substance that came on a tiny piece of paper followed by X number of crooked cigarettes, we were looking for something to do. We didn’t sit on couches and listen to Pink Floyd, we were on the go constantly.

Walking along with an expressway about 50 feet to our left we found some card board someone dumped.

Not sure who came up with the idea, might have been me, we all agreed that sliding down the side of the expressway on the ice plants with the card board sounded like fun.

It actually was. Hard part was walking back up the hill, ice plants are slippery.

After several good slides we were getting ready to go back up the hill when we heard a loud “HEY”.

Yes it was the police. We didn’t try to run, where would we go? Running would have Ben rude too. Plus we were having fun.

Sooooo, we slogged it back up the hill to where this very large black officer was standing with his hands on his hips waiting for us. Got to the top and he said and I quote: “you are the 4 dumbest ****ing white kids I’ve ever seen. Leave now and don’t come back”.

    :)

I was 22. We played a lot of foosball. Played at a ton of biker parties around Dallas. Did something along the lines of Marky Appleseed. Bought varietal herb from the isthmus area and points south. I got shot at in Houston. I had a blast.

I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

I don't remember much. It was fantastic though. I was 19, in a recording band, and working, whilst living at home (occasionally). No responsibilities, enough money to do what I wanted to do, young. fit, lots of girls, lots of parties, lots of experimentation . Memory isn't that great but i sometimes get flashbacks and I know I had a great time.

I had just become a teenager and had a band in the western suburbs of Chicago. Started smoking, lost my virginity, and "Waited for the Wirms to Come", Started drinking, taking cocaine, and smoking weed. Started going back and forth from Chicago to Palo Alto when Mom remarried that year. Had my first confrontation with the LAW. I had a band in CA as well. I already had long hair.
    Busy year.

Living in Manhattan, going to clubs (Mudd Club), discos (Studio 54, Xenon), bars (CBGBs, Max's Kansas City), concerts (all over) and having a damn fine time, usually via subway/bus and late night taxi.
