Seems like most of the story is regurgitated Paul tripe used to draw attention. Or maybe he has been talking to Roger Waters about the whole win friends thing.

Thought Micks response was about as deft a parry and reposte as one could hope for. :)

Even the Stones admitted they were copying Sgt Peppers. Jagger called it a "sound experiment" more than a proper album. They found their footing shortly after, though.

I didn't read the article, so I don't know what he said about John, but both of them said plenty when John was still around.

John was no saint either. I have read plenty about The Beatles, and from most accounts by people who knew him, he was kind of a doosh.

I’m not arguing, the Beatles were on a whole different level. If they made an LP of farts the Stones would follow it up.

"The sound you make is Musak, to my ears".

I am not a fan of Lennon post Beatles...nor Paul lately.

lol...a blatant attempt at what exactly? There is no similarity in the music whatsoever and I'm not really seeing any in the cover art.

Don't see anything in their histories or career trajectories that are even remotely similar either.

Sorry, I'm not buyin' it. I think it's a stretch.

I'm pretty sure if that was the case Paul wouldn't have called them a blues cover band but instead claimed they were imitators.

Beatles add sound effects, backward tracks, the stones follow with theirs.

Do you think there was any bitterness in those lyrics, or was it just me?

More Paul stuff I found informative.

NOTE: I posted a piece of a longer interview by Howard Stern. I was really surprised to find out how much of a deep Beatlemaniac Howard was. He really knows the work, and not just the Beatles, but the post-breakup solo work, especially McCartney. My doctor, who got me into the Beatles when I was a little boy, told me this was true, but at the time I still knew Howard Stern mainly as a shock jock, and I really have no use for that. Since he went on Sirius, he's become much more of an interviewer.

So this kind of what the Megadeth and Metallica feud will look like in a few more decades? Cool.

He didn't say anything derogatory about John as I heard him. He merely said that John was the first one to say he wanted to leave the group. Probably true.

There's an interesting couple seconds in the trailer for the Get Back movie coming out in Nov. where Paul and John are sitting there and Paul says, (paraphrased) "It's gonna be a comical thing, in 50 years time, that the Beatles broke up because Yoko sat on an amp."

Yeah, it was one album. The entire music universe was trying to make their own Sgt Peppers after they heard it.

On the Stones' next album, they did Stray Cat Blues. Point to me what Beatles song THAT was copying. LOL

Big time bitterness, you must’ve learned something in all those years. And those freaks were right when they said you was dead.
