Yes, they are.
For the last few years, I've been gigging with a Fender Mustang Floor run into the effects return input on a Tech21 Trademark 10 amp, which sounds awesome for the type band I'm in.
I'm now ready to switch to my Peavey Vypyr VIP2 with the Sanpera II pedal as my gig rig.
I wouldn't hesitate to use a Bandit, Classic, or Vypyr as a primary gigging amp.
My first amp was a Peavey. I'll probably own one when I die. They have always made good stuff for working musicians. Love 'em.
Just subscribed to this thread,, recently bought a peavy vypyr 30watt modeling amp.. and I am loving it,,, been pricing out the pedal for it.. probably going to cost more than the amp.. lol either way still happy with my purchase..
Sorry, I meant 3 amps. And tried my best to describe the various functions of each.
And I'm soon to upgrade to a Classic 20 MH with a 112 cab.
Yep I agree I have a couple Peavey amps. A buddy of mine has a Peavey Deuce he's been trying to sell me for a couple years. I think it was built in the 70s not sure but it has some years on it. It's an absolute monster. But you can dial in some great tone. I might have to grab that one. After all Lynard Skynard did very well cranking out awesome jams with Peavey equipment.
I'd love to get my hands on a Classic 20 or Delta Blues with a 15.
i've got the same amp and have the sanpera 2 footswitch which is great with it's looper, wah & volume pedals, and built in tuner. but do i need 400 presets? no, i use about 4. overall, you get a lot for your money with the vypyr series and i don't regret owning it at all. but as a practice amp, it's still very loud for me at home and i'm thinking of selling it and getting a yamaha thr10c which is better suited for noodling on the couch. it definitely could be gigged though
Peavey Classic 50 212 here , VERY underrated amp
Peavey Classic 30 1x12
I had a 1x15 Classic 30 for years and I'm pretty sure I got my best tones outta that amp.
Like maybe a 93 classic 20
Or one of the new ones?
The weight relegated it to where it sat...
Young man, or man with a roadie could not go wrong.
Yep its not pleasant to move though its a bit more sociable than my flightcased AC30
My Classic 50 with the 15 is for sale.
I really like this amp and cabinet but got my hands on a Marshall JVM 210 half stack. So I need to recoup some of my money.
Congrats on the JVM 210.. great amps I hear!
My favorite amp ever was a DeltaBlues 210. I sold it once and missed it so much I bought it back a month later!
But eventually let it go again. Was just too loud and big for an office amp, and I don't gig my electrics (acoustic guitar player/singer in my gigging life). I miss it a lot.
HEY I see now the entire Classic range is coming out of China now!! A shame I guess, but the pricing has come down, and some better features have been added - standby switch, switchable boost etc.
i've just bought a Vypyr 30 or 40 watts with the Sanpera II pedal, a standard 2010 Gibson SG and some material (2 strings sets, a gothic strap, Gibson polish), everything in a very good condition, for 850 $. I'm really happy with all that!
The Vypyr has totally changed my opinion on Peavey amps. I've never liked the few Peavey I tried (transistor), specially the Transtube
Awesome glad you like it ! Love my vypyr.
