Peavey Rage 258 vs Orange Crush 20

Hey, I was wanting to see if anyone has experience with these amps. I have been thinking about getting one or the other to replace my Rage 158. I play mostly 90s alternative. What do you think would be better?

Go try them if you can with your guitar. If not.. take a look at the speaker size and features. Generally small amps sound small because of a small speaker!

The Rage is a good sounding little amp. The Crush Series, in my opinion, sound terrible.

If you are looking for a smaller amp because of financial or volume constraints, there are better options out there.

If you're a Peavey fan, try out a new Vypyr.
They are much better sounding then the original Vypyr amps, and unlike all other modelling amps, the Vypyrs dont use digital distortion. They're Transtube.

I tried the Orange, didn't like it. I already have a USA Rage 158 so I think there wouldn't be a point in getting the 258. I think I may go for the Vypyr. I do love Peaveys though.

Great reviews, smokin' price. Probably the best you can do for under $200.

I have a Cube 30... pretty loud little amp!

Peavey, Fender, Vox....etc all make great small amps these days.

People can do the pro/con shoot out all day on each amp but IMHO the Cube at that price is the winner.

Cubes have some great cleans and reverb and modulations. I can get a pretty good sound off a MicroCube with a mic about an inch off the speaker too !
