Went back to the old phostenix wiring diagram site I used to use, and the images don't load anymore. .. .. does anybody have a new, or equivalent link?

phostenix was fantastic! Sure would be nice if someone had been wise enough to download/save them all and was willing to share? :whistling: Or maybe had contact info for the person who used to host them? One of the best things, was that there were few, if any errors in the drawings and labelings!

    Bueller? Bueller? :p

I guess due to the change in t&cs at Dropbox where the diagrams are stored the public access has gone.

There is a phostenix on twitter. It could be the Steve Tucker in Phoenix (phostenix) who produced the diagrams.
Anyone on twitter care to try a tweet see if it is? Maybe get the diagrams available on line again.

FWIW I have around 40 Esquire, Strat & Tele phostenix diagrams but nowhere near the full set.

    .

I liked all those diagrams and referenced them a lot on several forums when people were looking for help on "I want to wire my guitar to do these things" kinds of questions.

If it's a hosting issue, I suspect many of us could set up the location if given the images and copyright release. Worst case a forum creates a sticky thread with them grouped in logical posts for easy location/referencing/linking.

Thanks blille, I'll give it a look see. .

Skinny Nitro... It's definitely worth a shot, and see if I can find him....maybe I could post everything on a Google website if I can get copies and permission.

Skinny Nitro ....sjtalon.....I'm looking for the original strat X diagram, and I'm also looking for the image that went with this mod that wasn't on the Phostenix site. This one was even posted here at one time, but I can't find the image anywhere anymore.

    Thanks guys

    The Original Strat-X

    10 unique choices.

The first 5 are standard Strat switching. Press the S-1 switch and you get 3 in-series choices plus the Tele middle position (Neck & Bridge in parallel) and all 3 pickups in parallel.

    S-1 Up (Normal Strat):
    1. Bridge
    2. Middle & Bridge (Parallel)
    3. Middle
    4. Middle & Neck (Parallel)
    5. Neck

    S-1 Down:

    1. Middle & Bridge in Series
    2. Neck & Bridge (Parallel)
    3. Neck & Bridge in Series
    4. All 3 Pickups (Parallel)
    5. Neck & Middle in Series

Yes, and I had soldered this with a mini push button switch.....it was one of the most awful soldering messes in history, but it worked, and looked almost invisible on the guitar...lol

The diagram shows a humbucker bridge pickup with coil split switch on the tone pot. It's a simple job to remove the humbucker and replace with a single coil. The single coil hot and ground wires go to the same position on the switch as the humbucker green and red. Replace the pushpull tone pot with a standard pot (no switch).
I have a copy of the original Strat-X diagram but it is postage stamp size so not really useable. That's why I posted the humbucker version.

Ya I had saved those quite a while ago with intentions of doing it sometime. IIRC I saved it off Strat-Talk.

I already have a mini toggle on my Strat for neck on but thought of doing this deal to it as well.

My Strat may be only one or two of my electrics (other than the Gibson's I have) that I haven't rigged up to do series.

I ever re-wired the upper bout switch on my Jag to do series.

I guess for the most part I like to have the series option, AND like doing mods, and the extra options you get on the cheap.
