Hi all. Just bought a new EJ Thinline Strat vintage white. Love the looks and playability. Not too crazy about the OEM single ply pickguard though. What are your thoughts on this one? First pic is stock. Thanks

    I like both, but I am a sucker for a blonde/tort combo.

I like them both. But I like the white pick guard better.

That looks good. I’d have to agree that is an improvement.

Hey, that vibrato isn’t going to wiggle itself. You ought to remove the sticker and put the whammy bar in where it belongs.

Tort looks good on that, but I have no problem with the white. If it were mine I'd leave it alone.
That's a great looking guitar and I bet it sounds/plays terrific.

I prefer white pearl to be with vintage white.

Btw between white and tort, white looks better; tort seems better with burst

I really like the tort, but I think I'd leave the white on there.

As an Eric Johnson, it's probably decked with all five springs installed. ;)

I'm not a tort fan, but I like it on this one!

Since you asked, for the love of all that is Holy, leave the stock pickguard on.

I would go for a cream pickguard or keep the white.

Leave it as it is. That's a lovely guitar.

Brown Tortoiseshell looks like it was made to be paired with Vintage White!

I’d keep the white, but it has been argued that all of my taste is in my mouth...so there is that.

Used to own a vintage white/tortoise strat. Very classy in my opinion. +1 for the tortoise.

I like both but prefer the Tort. A pickguard change is an easy thing to reverse if you don't like it.
