Well dog gone. Some should stop posting old news. And as for Epiphone. This old bird could match just about anything Gibson could throw at it.
I will agree with you, that is beautiful!! However there’s no mention of him comparing epiphone to Gibson in that video. I don’t know if he even mentions epiphone. More or less talking about fake Chibsons floating around.
Also I know Epiphone makes some quality stuff but if it’s such a great guitar why not just say it’s a great guitar. Why the need or urge to compare it to a Gibson?
I know it’s your opinion but your 90% or more analogy compared to a Gibson is so far off the mark. That’s just my opinion by the way.
Sorry for bringing up old news, it was 'new' to me.
having a hard time understanding all the hostility toward this video... people here post about fake gibsons and their peddlers getting caught and huzzahs are raised to the heavens in thrall to the dirty scammers' defeat..
Poly vs Nitro?
I am too? I don’t get it. It’s old news but I didn’t see it before. I think a lot of people see the dude, see a Gibson and assume “play authentic” means he’s trying to sell you on buying some high end Gibsons. I mean that’s his job but this video wasn’t about that.
i think most of the controversy stems from viewers responding without actually viewing... i mean its a video about protecting the brand - not a slam on epiphones (a gibson product) or anyone else doing legitimate business... its not like i enjoyed the video, but none of the criticisms appear to be directed at any of the content....
He should have said: "get a PRS".......
Gibson’s marketing keeps telling us how awesome they are instead of how awesome they can help musicians be.
Actually if you watched the video he is helping the musician, saying avoid buying a fake or did I miss something?
I saw that when it first came out and all I thought was that he looked like he was in a hostage video. He's looks so uncomfortable.
Give him credit for going full tilt near the end.
He'll be ok. Lol
It's been quite a while since I've seen the video, but I think I remember him implying that other brands, like Dean, that use some of the same shapes, are lesser or not authentic. I feel like that's what a lot of people got worked up about back then at least. Again, been a while since I've seen the video. Can't watch it where I am now.
I made it 20 seconds. I assume at some point you are invited to buy an overpriced guitar which outweighs a Honda Fit.
I love Gibson guitars...that guy, not so much.
Oh maybe so but that video said nothing of the sort. Even so he wouldn’t be wrong would he? Still not cool to say but it’s not a wrong statement.
That’s the thing, everyone just assumes and then just replies with a silly comment.
Is he your uncle?
WTF is this all about?
Guy sounds like he's marshaling his troops to...
"What we do every night Pinky. Try And Take Over The World"
or has a splinter that mommy is too busy to take out.
Who is that douche?
He used to be the spokes guy for norm's rare guitars, he used to do demos and like a taco Tuesday type weekly reveal of a vintage guitar.
I don't grudge the guy a job or anything, but I just don't see him making anybody want to buy anything or put a positive spin on a product.
He's listed as the Director of Brand Experience at Gibson. If this video is any indicator, he may not be terribly good at the job.
