I'll plug the Canadian guitars if I may! I love the entire Godin family. If the Seagull headstock isn't for you, check out some of their sister companys.

artandlutherieguitars.com I have one of these, and it's been my #1 acoustic since oh I'd say I musta bought it new in 2002....just before my daughter was born I'd guess. Excellent guitars.

simonandpatrick.com another excellent choice. I was just playing their Songsmith model last night as my boy had drum lessons, I was killing time. It was under $700 and solid wood and made to kill.

http://www.normanguitars.com/models.html A workmate has a Norman. Odd name, for sure IMO but unreal guitar for the $.

For my classical studies I went with this http://www.lapatrieguitars.com/guitars.html and this nylon is incredible. I'll never feel the need to "upgrade" as well, what could I upgrade to? Not much.
