    Hi,

I have a shot at this MIM strat, any thoughts? Is it a good deal at $350 CAD
I noticed there is a line/crack near the neck pocket.

    Thanks for your advice.

Don't know the Canadian market, but 350 usd would be overpriced. Personally 250 USD is the most id pay for a stock MIM strat of that age.

Small cracks in the neck pocket like that are not a big deal and show up often.

I have a 1968 Telecaster with them and it's still in one piece.

I wonder what the pickups are, the Seymour Duncan is not stock, and the bevel on those 2 single coil pole pieces looks like they aren't stock MIM Standard pickups either....

Could be a good deal, looks like maybe 'agave blue' color....

Looks to be a 2002 so should be small sloped tremolo block and small vintage frets....

350 isn't overpriced at all here, they are 800 new plus tax in Canada....not 600 like in the USA

Our dollar is worth less, right now $1 Canadian is only about 77 cents US....

I don't know if it is a good deal or not but 350 CDN is about $270 USD. Petrodollars...

270 USD is a decent price. Especially considering he upgraded the bridge pickup.

I should have asked do the frets look good?
It comes with a hard case too.

I can't see any evidence of fret wear at all in the pics you provided, looks pristine and almost unplayed....

In person though something else might show up, just look carefully for dings/dents in the frets or flat fret tops...

I'd take the MIJ Squier if it was all original, but it's not, so I think that MIM from 2002 is a better choice @bachoholic

more curved fretboard radius (7.25") and wider string spacing at the bridge meaning high and low E closer to edges of fretboard...you should go check it out and try it...those things could be deal breakers for some but not for others @bachoholic

Sadly that isn't possible, the guitar has halfway across BC. I wish I could try it. I'm going to ferry over to the mainland to see the MIM. I already have issues with my MIK strat and the high E flopping off the bottom of the neck. I like the neck otherwise.

Is it possible to tell if the frets are ok on the MIJ?

I'm supposed to talk to the guy later today at some point and hopefully get more/better pics. Can you tell if the body is actually an MIJ and meant to be with the neck? I've noticed in photos some have more pick guard screws than others?
