Our maybe I just suck at timing. Actually there's a thread of mine from a few months ago where I'm complaining "My Timing Sucks!"

This is the earliest recording I could find. I'm playing bass and singing lead. My old band, likely recorded in the mid 70's, so it's over 40 years old.

I have cassettes from the late '70s when friends would come over to my house to drink beer and jam. Most of it is pretty horrible, but once in a while we'd make something that wasn't as bad as the rest. I need to find those dozen or so cassettes and go through them. It's not an easy task though.

The main thing was everyone had fun. Anyone was welcome to play, and if you didn't play an instrument you were encouraged to sing.

Occasionally someone who was good would come over. One night we had a pro bass player and an excellent amateur drummer. That's when I learned that a top quality rhythm section could make almost anyone sound halfway good.

I'm really bummed that no one thought to save any of our band recordings. Somewhere there's a VHS of us playing the highschool talent show but its been lost. I tried to get a copy of it many years ago but no one thought it important enough to track down the girl in the AV club and borrow it to make a dupe.

All the stuff on tape from the 70s, 80s and early is either long gone, or the means to play it is long gone. Two things for which I am eternally grateful. :) What is left, is mainly band stuff from the mid 90s until around 2005, most of which is with them.

I think when it comes to stuff transformed to bits and bytes and then being published on the internet I think this one is the oldest. From 1990 or so

    I can't believe I still have this.

1989, 10th grade (16, 17 years old), we were learning about 'electronic configurations' found in chemistry. My teacher had a contest to see who could be the most creative with the subject matter.

I just learned Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi so a friend and I wrote up some lyrics.

The song ends at 5 mins...I don't know what I recorded after that

Here I am in 1991. I’m the pretentious 19 year old bass player in bad pants. This is a little cable access show from Sacramento called Sacto Activ Rock.
