Enjoy.

NOTE: Chuck Berry's only Number One single was his cover of "My Ding-A-Ling". My understanding is that his previous record companies never wanted to pay the fee for the survey.

I really like this version.

When I was a kid, I heard My Ding A Ling, and wrote Berry off as a novelty act, and never paid any attention to his work. Of course he was a great artist and contributor to rock and roll.

My old band, Trainwreck, covered Nadine.

I don't have a recording. The bass player sang it and is like a bass/baritone. He had a simple but totally great groove and it was one of the funnest songs we did. I wish I had a recording.

On second thought, I just remembered we recorded an entire show. If thats on there I can try to edit a copy. Stay tuned, I know youre all on the edge of your seats!

Quite seriously it's a fact that my first musical memory is hearing Chuck Berry's first release in 1955 when I was 4 years old.....so I'm going to honk my own horn on this one.

My version of Maybellene played on a 1970 Guild F-212 and a 1930 Gibson L-5.

Enjoy!
