My first 4 chords at very start were something like in the picture, @fezz parka what do you think, are they correct?
There are no wrong notes in there, but interesting to compare with the @fezz parka fingering, where it's very obviously A7 on the final chord. I greatly admire the economy of your solution.
I am so slow spelling chords and figuring out fingerings that I rarely come up with an economical solustion. Add my admiration to Simoncroft's.
767 = F#minor triad. A-C#-F# Add a D and you have Dmaj7. Rootless triad. 787 = A-D#-F#. D#dim. 879 = G major triad. B-D-G Add E and you have Em7. Rootless triad. 765 = A major triad. A-C#-E They all "work" fine as long as the root is being covered by the bass. To hit the b7 in the A7, play 5-6-5 and hit the open A.
this is what i used along with some voicings from the cowboy chord area thrown in randomly and sometimes forgetting to play the E9 and playing an Em7 instead... x 5 7 6 7 x x 6 7 6 7 x x 7 9 7 8 (x or 10, depending on the moment0 x x 7 9 8 9 x x 5 7 6 7 7 x 7 7 7 7 x 7 6 7 7 7 x x 7 6 8 5
Thanks so much for doing this kind of thing. Im not yet set up to record, but I am so looking forward to getting in on this one day - I have heard a few of these from former posts and there is some great stuff therein.
Thank Joe at the North coast Brewery. He took the pic and posted it on their Facebook page. The Sequoia room is now in the top 200 jazz clubs worldwide on the Downbeat poll, and #7 in the USA on another (sorry can't recall...) jazz website.
Very similar to the voicings I used, but I stayed with the barre all apart from the E9, because it's more comfortable for my hands. Great lesson though, thanks, I shall borrow. You have two videos of the chords to choose from now.
I learn from best resources now I have to find time to practice. I’m torn whether I spend more time making €€€ to buy more gear or practice
This is what I usually do - let the bass do its work and I am covering 3 middle strings That, of course, makes me a bit lazy
You already know the correct answer. More gear doesn't make you play better. Working on the right stuff makes you play better.
I know the answer very well, but I choose to deny the truth LOL. I was practicing the chords. Luckily I managed to practice for 15 minutes although I spent one hour in the studio. Endless Phone calls and messages from clientes.. I’m leaving this on stand-by mode for now
