so I came across this video today. It’s been online since 2011, but for some reason I had never seen it. Very cool to see Clapton playing an early slab board and Richards playing a Mary Kaye. They look minty!! Both the players and the guitars.
Just like our own standard guitars look and feel today... people may fetishize ad libitum, but ask any artist from that era and they’ll tell that they bought their wonderful guitars just like I bought mine. Some new, because they were there when they entered the store (or their roadies, like Mal Evans did for Lennon and Harrison), some used, because they were simply good guitars that they could afford. Poetry, my man... always beats the hype.
