Why do you prefer Strata over Tele's or vice versa and why maple over rosewood, pauferro or vice versa, thanks.

I like all my guitars equally for different moods.
I like rosewood best because it looks best to me.

I don't necessarily prefer Strats over Teles. I definitely prefer guitars over bagpipes.

I like maple necks because visually I feel like I can see what I’m doing a little better.

I don't discriminate, all woods are equal.

    Except for ebony, that's superior.

I guess I prefer strats, as I have six, and no tele’s. At the moment.

I prefer a Jazzmaster over anything, as far as fretboard material, It doesn't matter to me, but Maple fretboards do look really bad on Jazzmasters.

The body of the stratocaster is comfortable, and can be plaid "plugged-in" on the couch, in the backseat of a van, in my lap. My forearm never gets sore or tired. I'm pretty spoiled.

If all there ever was, were Telecasters and Les Pauls I'd be happy. Since there are Stratocasters, I go for comfort. It helps that the switch is right were I need it. I like the Tely controls too, but only with a sculpted body. I don't care for guitars without some form of ergonomic thought put into their shape.

Most importantly I love the sound of the 98' Hardtail in my Avatar. The first high dollar guitar I wanted was an Ibanez S model, but after testing so many styles of guitar I went with her.

There aren't many guitars that I wouldn't love to have. Funding is the only reason I discriminate at all.

I prefer Strats to Teles...they look better to me and sound better to me as well. The headstock on a Tele looks atrophied. I had one beautiful Tele a few years ago, but could never bond with it. I'm certain part of the problem was that I kept playing it like a Strat rather than embracing it as a different version of the guitar.

I like both maple and rosewood fretboards. I think certain pickguards look better with maple necks than rosewood, and vice versa. I think mint and tortoise pickguards look best with rosewood.

I didn't set out to like anything better than another but as I have evolved, Starts are numero uno and PRSs are numero duo...it's just what feels right to me and what I LOVE the sound of.

I'm a sit down player so a Strat is the most comfortable not to mention a ton of different wiring configurations and pup choices...

    The brutal honesty is ....

    Stratocasters 1st

    Les Pauls 2nd

    Teles 3rd

My Tele lives in a case. The others are on the wall ;)

I'm not real finicky on fretboard wood .

I have never owned a tele so I guess I'm partial to the strat but i like the neck of my sg better! Guess I need a conversion scale neck ;) all my guitars are rosewood. My strat had a beautiful dark rosewood board

I just grab the nearest guitar off the rack and play.

I thought that too. Then I saw this:

Pity about the pickguard but that's easily fixed anyway.

I like them both. I used to have both, now I am missing a Tele. I am a maple guy all the way, I guess I mostly like the way it looks. When I can, I want to get a Tele with a maple board.I am accepting donations.

I prefer Strats because of the Tone, the trem system and scale length.

Over almost 3 decades of playing I’ve made the whammy bar use part of my own individual style and I can’t live without one!

I also LOVE the tone of single coil guitars like a Strat.. so much character and complexity in the sound.

I owned a tele about 20 years ago. I liked it enough for neck comfort and tone, but the hard tail configuration became a deal breaker

It's funny you should mention this. My first big guitar purchase was my Hardtail strat, yet all these years I've wanted a tremolo bridge. After much deliberation I built one, and now I'm questioning my sanity for having played only a Hardtail for 20 years. Absolutely love the floating bridge , and the ability to change pitch so easily while hitting chords. Damn, it feels good to play a Strat.
