I’m selling my Bluesbreaker RI. So with the cash I can get either a Handwired Princeton or a Deluxe…. Either at reduced price due to my deal with Fender. So which is it? Not interested in other suggestions at this time.

Some people can’t follow the simplest instructions @Antstrat …. If I wanted a toy I’d go to Toys R Us…. Opps they out of business…

    Play them!
IMO, I don't get Princetons...not even tweed ones.
For my money, they're a dinky student amp with a dink student sound.
I happen to have a heavily modded one that has an amazing OD sound...but stock?
    Dinky.

Honestly if you were going with the Deluxe Reverb or Princeton Reverb I think there’s more conversation there, but for my money a Tweed Deluxe is the best amp out there. It just does everything well, particularly with the right speaker like a Celestion Blue or Gold (id recommend the gold if you’re gonna push it hard on the norm).

Depends on what you want to use it for. If you want to get natural breakup, the PR will do it at lower volume. If you want a gigging amp, you can't go wrong with the DR.

    Depends...on the use.
A low volume affair lacking percussion or just noodling at home, the PR would be adequate.

Anything else...anything at all...the Deluxe, no question.

    But EG...you know this.
Get the DR...it has a volume knob.

If only for home or recording.....Princeton Reverb
If you will be playing out.....Deluxe Reverb
I've had one of each for years for those reasons.
I've even recorded bass using a Princeton and an SM 57 with the amp on 2 and reverb off.

Deluxe Reverb. I used a Silverface Princeton for a week. Prefer the Deluxe

I have had both and choose Deluxe for the headroom and bigger speaker IMHO.

Well the early winner seems to be the Deluxe. I recently walked away from my gig of 22 years. The Marshall Bluesbreaker RI has sat in its road case in the storage room for too many years to count. But it’s very heavy, case and all and I can’t lift it any more so… it needs to go to someone that will play it…. Hell of a amplifier!!!

But I’m a gear slut so I want to take advantage of my deal with Fender. It just seems like the sensible thing to do. I got several gigging amps around … I guess I’m just down sizing ….

I'd go Princeton for the divine edge of breakup sound but, if it didn't come with it, I'd have to get a baffle for a 12".
