I've been using 7.s and really like them so I am trying to decide should I put 7.s back on with the new tuners, which the strat is set up for now, or go for the 8.s? Both sets are Billy Gibbons.
Looking at the Sweetwater site and looking at the star ratings the 7.s have a higher rating.

There probably is not a whole lot of difference in them. I don't think the 8/s should effect the neck that much.
I found out that the truss rod nut is not as bad as I thought it was.. I tried a smaller new good quality hex wrench and there is still plenty of bite. If I do have a problem I got the Stewmac gripper wrench in case.

Are you referring to string size?

Do you float your bridge? Going up a gauge you will probably have to adjust the claw if you do.

any change in gauge will throw off all the current adjustments some.
