May I ask about the Albert Hammond Jr signature strat?

It seems to have tuning pegs that’s from a 68 reissue rather than a 72 reissue.
It looks like Albert’s 1985 mij 72 strat also has the older tuning pegs, and was wondering if that’s what came stock in 85.

    Thanks in advance

A mid-late '68 and a '72 would both have had as standard closed 'F' style tuners with split shafts so the most authentic reissues would have likewise (an early '68 could very well have double line Klusons still).

That saiid I believe the mid 80's MIJ guitars used (certainly the Squier SQs) both vintage correct 'F' style and a solid shaft more modern looking tuner... round rather than trapezoid. I guess if his '85 has 'F' style that's what his 'signature' comes with. If you're saying his doesn't have them then that's just lazy on Fenders part.

If you can find one a secondhand MIM classic series or '90's/00's MIJ reissue are practically the same guitar with slightly different wiring and pups for much less money. Just be careful buying Japanese which level of instrument you're getting as they had various price points set by materials used (Alder or Basswood bodies say).

I just bought an AHJ Strat, and it’s an excellent playing guitar.

AHJ strat in fact does come with f style tuners with thinner shafts. I’ve seen a few 80’s mij 72 reissues with thicker modern shafts and thought that 72s had modern shafts. Thanks for ur input
