I think I’d do the deal Ant.
Agree. Just waiting for his response.
If I didn't want the amp I'd make that kind of trade.
I've played that G&L model before and liked it. Decent sounding pickups. Nice neck with a little more heft and grip than many Fender necks. Same Saddle Lock Bridge and G&L design humbuckers as any US built model.
I have an ASAT Special with twin MFD pickups I like very much and the Deluxe has the same neck and bridge. They're well built guitars and usually sell in the $300-$400 range used.
Waiting for the guy's response. At first I wasn't sure but that didn't last long! Now I'm hoping he doesn't flake on me, I'm consumed with gas right now
HSC seals the deal.
That went from "Maybe an OK deal" to a good deal.
I'd hit that.
Woke up this morning with zero thought about getting a guitar.
Then due to technology and a few typed words it’s all I can think of.
Navigating a stormy sea of life events right now this is a good event to have
(been checking FB every hour for his response)
Even without the hsc, I think this is a deal to make since the amp has been listed for so long. Idk about you, but once I decide that I don't want a certain piece of gear, I move it along to the next guy or gal pretty quickly. I don't like things just sitting around. It's all about circulation and trying new gear.
Go for it! Any messages yet?
Sent him a message today asking if he was still interested in the trade.
He responds with “which amp?”
I respond with “the blackstar that you reached out to me asking if I was interested in trading”
Im starting to think flake so I’ll see what his response is.
Love the looks of it but wonder if the pups are crap. Seems too good to get decent pups with a flame maple veneer and binding at that price level...
They're OK pickups.
G&L generally uses "Duncan Designed" (Asian made under SD license) on models that do not get the MFD or other Fullerton-made pickups.
My mid-90s Climax had a "Duncan Designed" humbucker and a couple of basic single coils.
The DD Humbucker is generally described as being very close to the "Duncan Distortion"
