Opened for guitar/music wisdom that you guys want to pass to younger/inexperienced players.

I dont consider myself wise, so any tip the elders/expericiened/pros care to share?

Hugs to everyone and be safe.

Learn your tone. Don't spend your life trying to sound like someone else. Also don't just learn the note of a song. Learn HOW the notes fit the song then use what you learn to make music...not just regurgitate it.

Being a nice person, punctual, dependent and knowing your stuff is far more important than being a shredder. You’ll get more gigs.

Mistakes happen, everyone does it. Play through it, shake it off, get past it. That simple.

    And...
If ya don't read, learn. It opens doors that one doesn't know exist. Even in one's own living room.

You can pick your bandmates and you can pick your nose.

But you can't pick your bandmates' noses.

Practice every day, even if only for 20-30 minutes.

When learning something new, only play it as fast as you can smoothly, even if it seems quite slow. Speed will come as your finger muscles learn.

Do anything 10,000 times and you'll be good at it.

Enjoy! This is supposed to be fun!

Play with other people. Do not wait until you're "good enough" to play with others -- it will never feel like you are. Just find somebody to play with.

There are some d-bags, but most guys are willing to share what they know.
