I just saw a picture of one that fender sent me by G mail. I think it is a nice looking guitar but I don't know if it would be the one that I would buy if I was going to buy a new guitar. But I might if I actually saw it in person and got to play it. But I do think it's a very nice guitar its just I'm more of a old school guy when it comes to how I like for a fender to look. Thanks

This! Never been keen on ‘piece of furniture’ guitars, PRS etc. Looks a bit wrong on a Strat and really wrong on a Tele. Both are s’posed to be pretty-much everyday working guitars. Bit like the latest Land Rover Defender, fancy seats and trim, mod cons, it ain’t a Land Rover.

Yes, a lot of folks feel that way. There is something to be said for understated looks, form and function.
    I understand that.
    Some folks like the bling.
I'm both types. I have seen some amazing looking tops, and i enjoy a nice quilt or flame.
I am also just as happy with a plain top.

The one thing about this rarity series that really caught my attention is the rosewood neck with a maple fretboard. I dig the unique look of it.

Too Brown for my tastes, but at least no one will ever steal it.

I think it’s cool that it has a RW neck with a maple fret board. I don’t believe in predicting tone by neck or FB wood, but it is cool that it is the exact opposite of the “normal” way- and that does take away some of the brown.

I'm unable to like a Strat with a flame maple top.
The Rosewood neck is beautiful though.

    The maple top on alder...
While its not as thick...think of the difference between an all mahogany Les Paul Custom and the one with the maple cap. :)

Love the compound radius necks. And a rosewood neck with a maple board is pretty cool. You'd think that for $2500, you'd get locking tuners. But at least it comes with a nice case. Overall, I'd rock it.

Not a fan of the brown or the rosewood neck. IMO a Strat should look like a Cadillac, not a Woody.

Since you ask, I don't care for it, the color scheme and all. Also I don't like busy finishes. Just me though. I can't comment on the sound/playability, but those are probably pretty good.

I don't like fancy finishes on Fenders, just a nice custom colour is fine.

Flame tops are OK on Les Pauls and PRS's though, in fact it is what I expect..

Since the original Strat was near perfect this seems to me like a desperate attempt to improve upon perfection and the end result was the creation of some sort of unholy frankenstein abomination...

But that's just my opinion of course...:D

There are a few others in the series.
That is just the one i copied/pasted.

I don't mind the fancy top or any of that. I'm just not sure about the matching headstock. I was never really a fan of that look.

They have some with all rosewood necks thst have the fender logo laser etched on the headstock.

These obviously aren't for everyone, as most strat players seem to be more about the colors than figured tops.

I myself am pretty far off from being a purist when it comes to strats.
