These guys are the real thing too. Helluva band.
We still talk about how cool that as to just stumble on it. We may do that gain and keep going up to Evergreen.
When you're on C470 Red Rocks is a bit hidden by the Hogback Ridge and Bandimere Speedway but Hwy 26 behind the Hogback takes you right past it and also gets you to Hwy 40 over the top of the Hogback where you'll find Dinosaur Ridge and tracks embedded in the rock. Lots of fossils around Morrison. It's an interesting little town with quite a history.
Driving up Bear Creek Canyon on Hwy 74 to get to Evergreen is a great way to experience a winding, twisting road through the lower mountains of the front range.
It's also brings you right into old downtown Evergreen where the Little Bear is located. It's hosted some top musical acts many of them local like Firefall, POCO, The Dirt Band, Zephyr, and other national acts as well. I've seen Delbert McClinton there and others like Randy Meisner's Band after he left the Eagles.
It's not all that big and everything you'd expect an old mountain roadhouse to be. Some of our most interesting gigs were played their opening for POCO and Firefall. I haven't been up there in awhile but it's a real hoot of an entertainment venue.
The mountain towns just outside Denver are great places to explore as well. Lots of fun bars and roadhouses and beautiful drives through the mountains.
Visited Ireland two years ago and it was one of the best vacations I've ever had. Breathtaking scenery and wonderful people! We have plans to return this April, COVID-permitting...
Seen many a show there.
