I'm relatively new. Just signed up last week. My name is Tim. I live, work, play, etc in the greater Phoenix Valley, in Arizona, USA.
I've got a late 90's Lonestar in candy apple red w/ a maple neck. I owned it for nearly a decade and then sold it to make rent earlier this year. Lucky for me, the guy that bought it knew how much I loved it, and when he found a PRS 512 for insanely cheap, he offered to sell me my Lonestar back for what he paid for it, plus the $50 it cost him to get the payday loan to buy it. Between selling it, and buying it back, I bought a MIM standard in Wine red w/ a maple neck. I plan on leaving the Lonestar completely stock. One, I like the way it sounds and plays (though it needs a pro set up), and two, I've got a feeling that the collector value on this will go up in the next few decades. I can't wait 'till some moneyed hot-shot offers me $XXXX for it, and I get to tell him that it's not for sale, at ANY price.
I'm in the process of researching mods for the MIM, which led me here. The main mods I'm looking at doing are some Callaham trem parts, some new pick-up w/ some fancy pants rewiring (CTS pots, swapping a tone control to work the bridge pick-up, and a "7 sound" mod, along with a full re-shielding), and probably some locking tuners and a new nut.
I've been playing off and on for 20 years now. My first "real" guitar was hobbled together by a Guitar Center in Chicago. It had a maple neck on a cheap ply/presswood body. That one is long gone, but it did light my fire for the fairer Fender guitars.
I've got 3 working amps, and one that I have yet to build. I seem to have a preference for EL84 output tubes. (at least, based upon my current amps, that seems to be the case.) I've got a hand-full of pedals that I've held on to throughout the years. I'm pretty much just a casual player, as my schedule doesn't really allow for a hard-core practice regimine, nor band practice. At one time or another, I've played just about every type of music, short of Reagge and Jazz.
Oh, and I'm a guitar/amp geek with insatiable G.A.S., though I don't have deep enough pockets to even entertain trying to satiate it.
    Anyways, Hello everyone.

Yes, welcome and if you go with Callaham, make sure you get their parts made for MIM strat. Difference in string spacing from MIA stuff. I have a 50's classic modded with a complete Callaham trem and couldn't be happier. Best trem IMO out there as far as quality.

DTFan, there's actually not much to see at this point. It's a John Calhoun PCB for the FireFly from over at the AX84 boards. I wasn't exactly sure I wanted to dive into that as a P2P build, so I got a PCB to see if I'd even WANT to build one. Plus, I can fool around with the tone/gain before commiting to a P2P build.

Sweet. My own intro thread, back from the dead!

Bobert, I grew up in Woodstock, NW of Chi-town. I really miss the music scene up there.
