    I’m really surprised this was the first post today. RIP Stevie, doesn’t seem like 31 years tonight.

    Funny, "Crossfire" is my fav SRV tune! Gunna try and fill in on bass now in my studio but Tommy Shannon is a beast, awesome baseline!

    The first time I heard Stevie was when soul to soul came out and even though I wasn't a guitarist then I thought it was just the coolest thing I had ever heard, and bought very album ever since, can't believe it's been 31 years, every year gone is terrible.

    Just figured out the "crossfire" bassline playin' along, yeah! Think it's in F!

    I’ve been on a SRV binge for a few days. Strat tuned to Eb? Check! Lovepedal Super Six Stevie Mod with a J Rockett Icon to boost it? Check! CS 64’ Deluxe Reverb? Check!

    I’m setting here waiting for a Hurricane tomorrow night. But seeing Stevie Ray Vaughan in a empty club in Baton Rouge on a Tuesday night is like standing in a Hurricane…. Talk about getting blowed away!!!

    Yeah...I was thinking of you as I was monitoring the storm today. I know you're an old hand at these things but stay safe man!

    The man played like every day was his last....until he was taken away from us. I still remember the exact time I heard the news. RIP to a legend.

    @joebloggs
    I was working at this huge gas compressor station…. I was in a truck driving around the yard and I heard it on the radio. I pulled over for a few minutes and just sat there….

    I don't know that much SRV, was never introduced to him until a few years ago, but I listen to this one a lot. It's among my favorite songs ever, largely because of this live performance.

    Love SRV, he just gave all he had.
    Also a not controversial Strat hero. We miss you Stevie

    I had a summer job cutting lawns, and we were at a gas station when the news came on over the radio.

    That's weird, I was watching a bunch of SRV videos on YouTube yesterday and didn't even realise what the date was. I obviously don't remember when he died as I wasn't born for another 13 years, but I certainly remember buying a 'Best Of' CD to see what all the guitar magazines were going on about - just the opening notes of Pride And Joy were enough for me to be totally hooked!
