Just watched the Company webinar on plans to return. Looks like volunteer return until September then they go case by case with each department. I have zero interest in going back to commuting 2 hours each way so really torn on what to do.

they told us this was permanent LOL.

how are you all doing with your WFH or return to the building?

I work for a humogo telecom and am in a humongo Union, Management are said to going back to the building in July, the rest of us end of September. Which would be fine by me.

I’ve been going to my office since October, but it’s only been about 5-10% full. Today was the first “office day” they tried to get people in voluntary...seemed about 25-30% full this am...it’s a little after noon and some people have already left.

The company wants to get back to full capacity by the end of the year, but it looks like it will be a tough sale.

Man ill be depressed if i have to go back to the Office environment, the commute , the gas, the the wear and tear on car and Most of all having to see people i have no interest in mingling or talking with, I already sent HR a letter stating my intentions should they force me to go back to the office
as i explained im more efficient at home and have no need to socialize at the office ... will see what they say

you didn't this WFH was going to be permanent, did you? With most managers, if they can't physically see you, you are goofing off.

We're on a voluntary basis at the moment. The plan seems to be to return in some form by September but no real guidelines have been given. It's likely that the return will be something less than 5 days per week. Personally I don't see myself going in more than 2x per week which to be honest, would be a welcomed change. My commute is more like 90 minutes each way but after 15 months of working from home I could use a change of scenery. I guess I'll have to brown bag it too as I'm sure most of my favorite lunch carts are out of business.

they told us it was permanent and broke down large sections of edit space. They're going to have an issue bringing everyone back because people moved and or bought houses based on the news it was permanent.

    This will be interesting

I’ve been in the office for a while. If it’s two hours each way, move closer.

We're supposed to be back in our offices this fall, I'm looking forward to it. Short commute, thankfully, and I could use the human contact.

Never missed one day since this whole horse shizz started. At times I was the only one in the office when employees had the suspicion that someone they knew had a cousin in another state had CV and had to stay home for 2 weeks....

I’m a automotive mechanic so I guess that’s essential. Work never stopped and it was actually busier than ever. I work flat rate so it was pretty much the best year for pay ever. Weird, you think it would have been slow. No one on the roads but the shop was full!
