Where are their instructional videos?
All over the place.
Here's one of Jody's:
There's more info in this one video than all of Beato's.
Quartal harmony? Here ya go.
It’s coming into focus.

Easy to find, more to enjoy.
He's trying to earn a living. His channel pays his bills. That's fine. But what he has to say isn't relevant to me. Been there...done that.
I've seen one or two of his videos. I don't know anything about him or have an opinion either way. I will say that I've never heard of him until YouTube.
Beato's instructional videos are much more ambitious than anything they offer.
His theory gets deep and he's very generous with his knowledge.
Beato is not teaching guitar.
He teaches the fundamentals of music.
Your second video is not available in my country so I cannot comment.
Beato's schtick isn't my cup of tea. I've tried to watch him and I find him self-aggrandizing and long winded. And his cry baby rants about fair use make me laugh...because he knows that when you marry educational content using material protected by copyright to video ( which YouTube is)...you have to get a synchronization license from the publisher. Especially if your channel is monetized. Which his is.
He's a hypocrite. He wouldn't let his content be used for someone else to make money off of. I'll bet if you were selling his coffee mugs...he'd hit you with a C&D letter so fast your head would spin around.
These are a few of the reasons that for me...Rick Beato is a waste of time.
There are a few people like Beato that I watch occasionally, if the subject matter interests me and the video isn't too long. 30 minutes is really pushing it.
I don't watch every video from any of these people. Not even Andertons.
If you can't say it in 20 minutes or less ..you're talking too much. Beato likes the sound of his voice.
20 minutes???? I have problems getting through the 5 minute mark.
Any good lesson is around 20 minutes long. Anything longer is pulling on your Johnson.
Beato put me to sleep
I like his analysis sometimes. However, I prefer watching channels about blues guitar, like
Texas Blues Alley or blues licks tutorials.
I always preferred Heather Feather...
Rick Beato is the Rick Sanchez of music, minus the burps. They even look alike.
i could not be happier with my string gauge choice and it has improved my playing but rick b told me my choice of string gauge is wrong for me.
so i would make the poll like this - is he...
c. on drugs
d. pranking us
I like the guy. Don't watch all his videos. Just the ones that catch my interest. Like his What Makes This Song Great videos and his interviews. Speaking of which, someone mentioned Tim Pierce. Tim has appeared several times in his videos. Rick even visited Tim in LA. They have both mentioned their friendship on their channels. A lot of the music theory goes over my head but what doesn't until you learn it. And who of us would turn down a signature guitar if a maker wanted to make one? Not saying you have to like him just because I do.
