I'm still laughing and no one else got it?!? Belushi was funny with an F-U in that sketch!
This does not make any sense. sodas are relatively equal in price. I don’t know how to eliminate that factor
excuse my digression but:
Gibson is Jack Black
Fender is Dickel Gold
Rickenbacher is Mount Gay Eclipse
Gretsch is Wild Turkey
Guild is Makers Mark'
Epiphone is Jamiesons
Duesenberg is Bombay Sapphire Blue
Danelectro is Zevia. It’s good but you better know what you are getting into.
D’Angelico is Cheerwine.
They say Dr. Pepper is "a unique blend of 23 flavors".
I say it only has ONE flavor....Mr. Pibb
Fender= Jack Daniels
Gretsch = Margarita
Rickenbacker= pina colada
The comparison is pretty silly. If you had grown up in Memphis, you would have noticed that the corner stores in the black neighborhoods never had signs for Coca Cola or Pepsi, as it was believed that both companies supported Jim Crow laws and organizations like the KKK. These stores sported RC Cola signs - pronounced "r-o-cee cokcola".
There may have been validity to the racial prejudice - I don't know, but it was there none-the less.
I'm old, I know these things:
Ric is Delaware Punch
Gretsch is Vernor's ginger ale
Mosrite, BTW, is Wink soda
Or Nehi .
Rickenbacker would be RC
Probably something like a Melody Maker. Gretsch and Rickenbacker too niche. Fender haven't really made an iconic student guitar like Gibson did. A Single pup, no pickguard, one vol, pine bodied Strat might have done it.
Gibson = Bottled Water (that was recalled for poor quality control)
I love rootbeer, "Barq's has sparks". Pour some salted peanuts into the bottle then you've got a rootbeer float. Would that be an Epi?
boutique companies = Jones Soda
Squier = Fanta
Nah ... Gibson would have to be Southern Comfort !
There's no accounting for taste.
