...and he was only 98. The world just lost a bunch more funny Alan Brady has left the building.
Life just became a little less funny...
He gave us his all!
Including that huge turd of a son, aptly known for his characterization of Meathead.
A verryyy funny man.
You mean the highly respected director of This is Spinal Tap and The Princess Bride? Are we making some kind of political point here?
Yes. And No.
Well, keep it to yourself.
lol......figures you like him...being yourself a self appointed director of what others should or shouldn't do. Stuff it.
Enjoy the cornfield.
He was a funny guy. I didn't really follow him, but he had an amazing career I see.
The world will miss him and his humor.
I remember watching him on the Dick Van Dyke show.
A very funny man.
Yeah it sucks, but come on, 98 is a hell of a good run. R.I.P.
As this is a thread about respecting and remembering a man who has just passed, I am disappointed that you would feel this an appropriate environment to comment on your feelings about his son. Why did you feel the need to do that? Imagine you were a family member trawling the Net to see what tributes had been made...
Rob Reiner is just as funny as Dad. ROB IS SPINAL TAP.
"The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones." ― William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar
This is disappointing. Jim and Simon are right on. Totally unnecessary in a thread about the great Carl Reiner.
The Jerk is one of my favorite movies. When I met Carl Reiner, I told him how much I loved it. He smiled and said "You're not....well...are you? Then he said thanks.
He was really a sweetheart.
When I was at MGM, we had a new, young production exec. Smart guy, or so I thought. One day we had a meeting with Carl Reiner. This exec was courteous and pleasant, but...then he asked Carl this: "So...What have you done lately?" I said "Are you f*@&in kidding me? It's f*@&in Carl Reiner! You know, Meathead's dad."
"Who is Meathead".
Carl looked at me and said
"Thanks for trying my boy" and got up and left.
Your Show Of Shows. Caesar's Hour. The 2000 Year Old Man. Dick Van Dyke. His films.
He was great. And had a long wonderful life. Thanks for the laughs.
And A Few Good Men. Rob knows how to make a good film. Misery....Stand By Me...Ghosts of Mississippi...
